Pro Shop prices.
« on: March 25, 2009, 10:22:21 AM »
What is a reasonable price to pay for a ball like the Hammer Hot Sauce or the Roto Grip Rogue Cell at a local Pro Shop? I ask because prices seem fairly high. For the Hot Sauce, the price is $240 and the Rogue is $230, they include drilling but don't include inserts. Do these prices seem high to you? Just wondering what others pay or what they think. Thanks.

Yes even my local shop is high at 225 with everything out the door. I feel that 190 or so is the norm for your high end balls.

only in San Francisco CA. The catch is you need to tell him how to drill, otherwise every ball he drill will go very long and hook late.

it all depends on your area, for me it would cost me anywhere from 140-150 for a lane 1 ball...so i would charge 230-250 for a lane 1 ball, all inclusive

Rogue 219.95 Nor Cal.

for jtmouse is that Daly City?? Hope he didn't measure your hand by putting it next to his!! Some of those balls I have checked are not even close legal scale wise!!
I would say that you get what you pay for from 1 shop over there.

As my friend Laufaye says it depends on the part of the country you are in.  Prices are a lot less here in southern Oklahoma than they are where he is in the Bay Area.  Labor rates and material charges are higher due to cost of living.  It cost more to run a shop in San Francisco.

Cost of living dicates alot.  In the midwest, sure a high performance ball could be had for less than 2 bills.  But, here in washington(minimum wage 8.55) we have to charge more to cover the labor costs....just depends on where you live.
