Pro Shop prices.
« on: March 25, 2009, 10:22:21 AM »
What is a reasonable price to pay for a ball like the Hammer Hot Sauce or the Roto Grip Rogue Cell at a local Pro Shop? I ask because prices seem fairly high. For the Hot Sauce, the price is $240 and the Rogue is $230, they include drilling but don't include inserts. Do these prices seem high to you? Just wondering what others pay or what they think. Thanks.

$210 for Hy-Road here, $240 for Sauce and Virtual Gravity, at least $230 for Dimension, and I can't remember for the 2D but I'm sure it's at least $220.  I believe Vibes are around $140-150 and other mid-performance pieces such as Avalanches, Street Rods, Pin Slasher, etc range $160-200.

agroves, I'm in Washington too.

Two different price points.  These balls cannot be priced the same

The Rogue Cell is at a slightly higher price then the orginal Cell which was pricing itself at the Black Widow price point.  Well, that's been a bit worn now, and with Rotos recent last year's sucess I would not expect current prices to stay so low.  I price all my Cells at 199.95 drilled, but plus grips and slug.

The Hot Sauce is another beast.  Its priced to me at a higher price point.  So I sell that at $209 with drilling plus grips and slug.

But the bit question is what difference of these balls, and is it worth the extra for the Hot Sauce.  I have the Cell, the Cell Pearl and the Hot Sauce in my bag.  The Cell Pearl is more arc-ing and controllable even with a stacked leverage drill.  The Hot Sause is a great back end ball.  Lots of  movement there and shines when back end is needed.

If you want to bicker over $20 go for it.  But do you want a strong pearl or a sharp backend pearl?

The Rogue Cell we have not drilled up yet.  So didn't include it on the comments.

the thing is that unless it's a large pro shop there paying a 140 for the ball from there distributor so they are looking at making a round 50% of there expense off the ball take a ball most of the pro shops without running a sale have to price there gear within a certain priceline or they can have issues with the other pro shops and there distributors.

Those are pretty good prices.

Now let me ask you this,  would you sell and drill them for that price if you were a pro shop, in the real world.

Most top line balls cost real pro shops about $130-$140.

So you are able to but them drilled with slugs and inserts and a car wash and lunch for $130-$160.   Wow.

Either your daddy owns a pro shop or your just making "stuff" up.

Now if your Daddy owns a pro shop, or you have a friend that is giving you an inside deal,  that's great.  But chances are, these are not the prices most of their customers are paying for "stuff" like that.

now get real
