Dry lane ball question
«

I am looking to buy the lane 1 chainsaw or storm natural for dry lanes. I bowl at 9 pm on second shift alleys. Also the alleys the first 20 feet are gurdian and the rest of the alley is wood. I am a stroker that throws the ball around 16-17 mph. Which ball would you recommend for this situation?

a rayzr or a link. You need something to get down the lane and even the natural will want to start to roll early

I would honestly go for a MoRich Mojave or a Razyr, my experiences with the chainsaw are it is very condition specific. I have a reasonably strong drilling on the chainsaw, and I can't use it unless the lanes are perfect. I can not swing the ball at all, it will not recover and It usually hooks at my feet. That ball is by far the most disappointing ball I thrown in a long time. I also have over a 500 rev rate and that ball goes straight as an arrow. Mojave is my go to ball when they are toast.

natural is the best choice. so smooth and hits strong. urethane cant be matched by resin on dry mids.

Link, Neptune, Rayzr, or the new AMF Hype (the urethane or resin verison) would work out fine on any dry lane shot.

Try L/LM Hornet.
You won't be disappointed.

I recently picked up the Natural for the same reasons you mentioned and I am very happy with this ball. If you get a clean and smooth release, it will reward you because of the controlled length, yet strong & smooth roll through the pindeck. I find I can also use it for spares as the added control gives me confidence in the accuracy of my shots.

may sound unusual in choice but take something like a virtual gravity or a power/full swing and drill it weak and throw it fast when you bowl it will give you lots of control on a dry condition. if its you having trouble getting the ball downlane try taking something with a differential around 0.035 like a noize from columbia300, drill it strong and keep the same idea of fast ballspeed. the weak ball with strong drilling will get the ball downlane but pretty much undoubtedly get back

For the most part, for dry lanes and spares I rely on my Roto Grip Neptune. Reacts very evenly and, at least for me, won't over-react.

Oh yeah, VG would be my first choice for a dry lane ball. Unbeleivable (insert sound of hand hitting forhead).
