I am in he same boat as Louie. I buy a lot of stuff from ebay, here, or from the pro shop used. Call me cheap, probably, but then again, I dont mind f I get a ball that was drilled right handed, plug it up and drill it lefty and its brand new to me. If you do a good color match (tough to do with all the mutil-colored balls), you cant see the old plug. Or plug it with the same colors and the grips and to me it lookd as though the ball has more rev to it. I bought a WOW from the pro shop owner for 80 bucks total, when I would have payed about 150-160 for a NIB+shipping+drilling. I took that 80 bucks and just bought a lefty drilled Emerald buzzsaw off of ebay. Will redrill the thumb to fit my span an regrip the fingers and that total will be under 100 bucks again, for a ball that runs about 225 after all is said and done. As far as bowling companies putting out new balls every other week, I agree with everybody, they need to start releasing balls 3 times a year (start of league, mid point, end of league/start of summer league). Only put out 2 or 3 balls covering different conditions (heavy, med, light oil patterns) and be done with it. I am almost positive that with all the bowling ball companies there are, compared to how many bowlers subscribe to the ball of the month club, they would still sell just as many balls if not more. Morich came out with the Hercules probably 3 months ago, my buddy just got a "test" ball from Mo. Didnt get any info really, but it looked to have more backend than the Hercules. Not sure if it has a tweaked core (again) or something new, but the same Versa-tech coverstock (test ball cover was a dark red). Might have a different name, but we will find out soon. Heard it is supposed to come out by the middle-end of summer....just in time for everybody to buy a new ball for the start of league. Minus that smartass remark, Mo does an unbelieveable job with what hes got, and puts out THE best equipment on the market.
