Modified shark pattern.
« on: December 27, 2008, 06:27:17 AM »
Im going to bowl on the modified shark pattern for the fist time tomorrow. I bowl in an old amf center, and the lanes here always seems oilier then other centers. So i guess it will be very slick.
Whats the best line to play? Around the 8-10th board pretty straight? Or should i move in deeper?

While urbanshaft is correct, on the older Shark pattern, I usually found somewhere around 15 board to work for me.  Tight line with particle.  I haven't had the chance to bowl on the newer Shark pattern yet.

It really depends on your rev rate.  I bowled on a modified shark and for me personally had the best look going straight up 8-10.  One other person I crossed with was attempting the same thing, but she had even less hand than me and was having issues getting the ball to turn the corner.

The other person had some hand and played pretty deep inside and was swinging out to around the same area and scored the best of us all.

I only ended up +94 or something, she was -, and the other guy was the leading qualifier.  I was using a Bite, she was using some Lanemasters stuff because she is on staff, and I believe he was throwing a Sauce.

Obviously you're going to have to wait until you get there to see how the lanes are playing, but if they are at all like what we played on, if you let the ball leak, you're in trouble.

Good Luck and keep your swing loose!!

I shot 969 in 5 games. I went 177-194-174-190-234. Missed one single pin, the rest where splits.

Good bowling.  How did you play the lanes?
