Hey Everyone,

I've come up with a bit of a small problem. I just ran out of cleaner for my Freak, and won't have time to go pick anything up before the league tonight. For a Spring League that is just for fun, my house lays down a ton of oil, and by the end of the night, it appears that most of it is on my Freak. I need this to be cleaned up for tonight, so does anyone have any ideas of what I could clean the ball up with around the house? I've heard of putting the ball in a bucket of water with dish soap, but does this actually work? There are a lot of rumors out there about cleaning bowling balls, Help out this ignorant bowler please!

I would use rubbing alcohol.

I've used the hot water (and soap if you want) method a couple of times with my bowling balls and they seem to respond well to it.

For a real fast fix use alcohol, or put it in the dish washer with no heat dry and it will be like brand new.

The water method is good. But you do not want to over due it.

For a quick fix....simple green, Formula 409. Some cleaner along those lines should work really well.

If you wan't go clean off oil, DON'T use alcohol. Alcohol doesn't get rid of oil, it merely moves it. Think of putting water on a grease fire, the same kind of thing.

I'd use something like Simple Green and rub down the ball.

any citrus based degreaser(simple green,orange clean,ect..)will do better than most cleaners you buy at the pro-shop for a LOT less $$..
