Progress

I've gotten better considerably since last time when I got flamed....In fact, my teammates, who are the TRUEST Joe bowlers you'll find, even said "Wow you look a lot different", which means i must have changed a LOT for them to notice.  I slowed down my feet, freed my armswing, and developed a Parker Bohn-esque trail leg kick to get low.  Of course, my AWESOME luck, I couldn't even use it because I only brought my trusty Bruiser (drilled with the pin almost in the grip center) and a spare ball, and the lanes happened to be the driest I've quite literally ever bowled on in league.  So, the new better style was way too much since the bruiser burned up if i didn't force it and get over 18mph completely up the back, and I don't have any confidence in using plastic so i didn't want to risk that, so I decided just to heave the bruiser, get few strikes and take my spares.  So, I had to bowl completely different, after i had just spent time trying to become better.  Arrgh.  But I do expect my scores to get better, since next week i'll be prepared.  I'm going to be a stupid house hack and bring my 4 ball roller...Target zone, power groove, screamr, and bruiser in case they actually decide to put some oil.

Basically, the point of this is to say that I've decided NOT to quit bowling, so I'll actually be working on my game.....

That's good to hear.  Remember your Five P's:  Practice Prevents Piss-Poor Performance

As far as I'm concerned, being just a house hack myself, bowling is a lot like chess:  Easy to learn, but difficult to master (PBA/PWBA guys/gals notwithstanding).

I'm glad to hear that andy! I really thought you were gonna give it up there for a while, but I'm glad you decided otherwise.

Great to hear that you'll be continuing to work on your game and not give up on bowling. I'm sure the more effort you put in on the lanes, the more the confidence and the scores will increase.

If I bowl in a house with pot luck/ inconsistent lane conditions from week to week, I too would bring at least 4 balls and sometimes 5. Since I can face that in both my leagues, I happen to bring a 3 ball roller and a 2 ball tote because I've faced heavy oil one week, wet/dry the next week, and very dry the week after in one of my leagues this year. Tournaments- I try to load everything I can in...

Keep us updated on your progress.
