I would like to know what everyone thinks. This is a beta version (of course no links or other info is added in) of our new design. Please give me feedback..

Now that looks more like what it will actually be like. Please send your feedback.

Bowlers Alley Nick, what exactly are you showing us here,
if its a preview of a site design, its a bit sparse.
You some content, even if its just gobble-de-gook.

Currently you just have a banner, which is ok, but I think its a bit too big, though this impression may change if content was filling the vast expanse below it.

You have this gradient white area below, I presume this will be the starting point for the textual content, whill it fade like that, or will it be a solid area, because you could have a real bad problem with text colours, just something to think about.

I care less about a "look" than ease of use and content.  The "appearance" can reflect the nature of the site but it can never replace good structure and content. IMHO

Nick, I think it looks very nice and I am a graphic artist. Use the white gradients for your text just make sure they go as long as your columns of text. And since you opted for a dark back ground make sure you use light type. Don't make the common mistake of black background and blue text which you not can't read but hurts your eyes trying. Keep going your doing good work.

Thank you everyone. I would like a little more feedback before I go on and make that the official new design of The Bowlers Alley. So keep the feedback coming. We thought that BOWL picture looked great, the photography is just amazing. I am starting on the new site today and plan to have it up in the next few days. It is our 4 year anniversary by the way. Which is why we are doing the new site along with other things.

Nick, I was not trying to be rude, and I'm sorry if it came off like that,

I like the banner, but if you open that page into 800x600 then the banner takes up over half the screen, what res are you targeting?

I didn't think you came off rude at all. I wanted feedback.. I'm targeting all (maybe the exception of the 3 or 4 people who use 640.) It is taking up the whole screen? I have a much higher resolution..

the width is fine, but you averagly get around 400-450 pixels for height in 800x600, cus of the task bar etc taking up a lot.

But hey, who uses 800x600 anymore.... ?
as long as it looks good on 1024x768 then that should be good enough

You might want to think about reducing the page margin widths also
