How did you feel?
« on: February 09, 2005, 05:48:36 PM »
Anyone care to share how they felt on the 12th and final ball of their first perfect game?

I was cleaning some jewlery tonight and just happened to pull out my 300 and 299 game ring and was reminiscing about the night I rolled my first perfect game.  I don't remember the exact date but I know it was a Friday night league, I had just got off work and still had my military uniform on.  It was the second game and I was using an original Messenger Titanium.

Anyone else?

I was absolutely certain it was going to carry - and my first thought was "finally!"
The second was that I was delighted that my son was bowling with me that night. He was so impressed by the way I threw the ball in the first game that he told the folks we were bowling with that I was going to shoot 300 the second game - BEFORE I THREW THE FIRST BALL!!

My knees were knocking pretty bad when I went up for my 12th shot, because it suddenly dawned on my I had thrown the first 11.  It was a Brooklyn shot, complete with 80-lane courtesy since the whole center stopped to watch.  Still, I won't forget that moment for the rest of my life.  It was sort of like bowling in a morgue because it was so quiet

The first 300 I shot was actually in a pot game.  I was thinking about the money more than the score.  I knew that I had the front 11, but I wanted that cash!!!  I was pretty nervous and tugged the ball inside but it held.

I had never had more than the front 8 when I shot my first 300. I was most nervous for the first ball of the 10th. The 12th ball I almost didnt care if I struck---I was happy with 290-anything or 300. I threw it brooklyn and it carried. My first thought was to call my girlfriend who of course came up with the congratulatory remark of "I wasnt there to see it"---thats the first thing she said.

Funny thing about my brooklyn strike. 1 is a milestone. In my other milestone 300s---10 and 20, I had brooklyn strikes in key moments in each game. Frame 9 and Frame 11 accordingly. At no other time have I thrown a jersey in a 300.

I threw my first and second 300 games, back to back, the first and second games of the set.  This was four years ago.

In the first game for ball 12 I was more determined than nervous, because I'd shot three 290s and I kept telling myself that 11 in a row just won't cut it this time.

And just about 45 minutes later, up there again for ball 12, looking at consecutive strike 24, I felt like I was in the twilight zone.  It was an out of body experience when they all fell.

My uncle dying and I said to myself "This one's for you" and released it. I remember watching the ball hit and carry. I think I was in the zone where emotions don't come until afterwards. Then I shouted "300!!!!" and was shaking so much I yanked the first ball in the second game Brooklyn.

First 300 was during Rock-n-Bowl of all things.  Wasn't totally nervous for that particular one as it wasn't in league or anything.

The first sanctioned one was VERY nerve racking!  Firsst year in the adult leagues and it was my first game of the night.  I remember not really feeling like I was holding the ball and when I went to release it I tugged the ball, but threw it fast enough to flush it.  Great feeling to say the least!!

Well . . . leading in to the 12th shot I was soo nervous.  I had tugged the 11th shot and carried brooklyn.  But as soon as the 12th left my hand I knew it was carrying all ten.  I was yellin' for it to carry and then I just stared at the empty pin deck.  It was amazing

I shot my first 300 in August of 2004 with an Ultimate Inferno. The ball was fresh off the press from the night before. I shot it in the 2nd game and the ball had literally no track on it. I couldn't believe what was happening. I tripped a late "4 pin," on the 10th ball. 11th ball I scrambled it a little bit, and the the 12th was a pinch high flush. It felt good. I always believed in squeezing it a little bit since the nerves can make you weak. I know it is a sin to "Grab," the ball, but it ended up working for me hehe...

I was bowling a college tournament in Las Vegas back in 1982 and it was the last game before the next squad came in. Must of had around 100 bowlers behind me as I threw the last shot. Put ten in the pit (don't ask me how, my knees felt like jelly) and the place went nuts. I'm lucky I didn't foul because my teamates mobbed me at the line. Probably wouldn't mean much today, but back then, it was a pretty big deal. Definitely a 300 I'll never forget.

im yet to throw a 300 game, but in a practice game, i has 11 in a row, and i was soooo scaired, and nervous on the 12 shot. My mom was there and she was all happe and couldnt stop talking. Man my arm was shaking, and i couldnt hold the ball straight.....so i didnt get the 300

i threw teh ball and i spun the ball i was so nervous, and didnt carry the pins, and hit the 3-6 pin and ended with an 8 out of 10 pins. Anyway, i ended the game with a 298, but i dont count ti cuz i only count my high games with sanctioned games. 287 all the way!!!
