afraid of particle
« on: December 08, 2003, 10:34:31 PM »
Okay here is the scoop.  Being pretty much a novice when it comes to bowling technology, I am yet in the market for a different ball.  I've had my 15# Nitro R2 for 10 years, but typically only bowl one night a week.  Its been resurfaced twice, and still works, but want something that also handles some oil.
My main concern is that the particle balls seem rather fragile (loses the surface) compared to the reactives, at least from the posts I read.  Am I making a correct assumption?
I'm a stroker, medium-slow ball speed (14-16mph), and bowl on unpredictable synthetic lanes .
Was sort of looking at a Revmaster, Eraser Boost, or Beastmaster.
HELP!

squeeds,

take care of your equipment, you shouldn't have a lot of issues, especially bowling 1 night a week.

The only issues I'm aware of is Columbia's particle stuff, not NEW stuff, older disconitnued stuff.  Do a search for "Tec Death"..........

Anyhow,....maintanence is key!  Don't be afraid, I had a Super Power w/ well over 200 games on it that's still being used by my brother !!!

Keep 'em clean, have them resurfaced by a KNOWLEDGEABLE pro shop periodically, and you should be fine.
If the newest thing you have is 10 years old, though, particle might be a little bit TOO different. Kinda like a Model A and a muscle car...
Find a really reputable pro shop and discuss it with them.
