Title: Putting money in the team kitty
Post by: mitch2245 on April 20, 2012, 05:08:23 PM
On my leagues we have different things you have to do to not owe money to the kitty. If you get hung you owe. If you don't make your average you owe. We do a "no blow" in the second game. The person who doesn't miss a spare that isn't a split doesn't owe and everyone else does. We play cards of course. What are some other things you guys do to put money in the kitty? I'm looking for some new ideas.

One of the things we do is: If everyone strikes in the same frame then everyone puts money in the pot. Then on the next frame the lowest first count thrown then has to pay again.

We pay if you don't get your game average and then again if you don't get your series average.

Just out of curiosity, if you couldn't gamble while bowling, would you ever bowl?

While this is considered gambling we do it to get a little more money back at the end of the season. I don't bowl league thinking I'm going to make a ton of money but its always nice to get a little something extra. And to answer your question yes I would still bowl if I couldn't gamble. One of my teams uses the money to pay for entry fees into tournaments we bowl.

We throw in a dime for a double, and a quarter for 3 in a row or more.  A dollar if you get hung or if you throw a gutter ball on your first ball.  We also use the money to pay tournament entry fees.

Our bowling centers don't allow pets at any time!! We can't bring our kitty or doggy!! lol

Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

We use allot of them:

1. Man in $1.00
2.Gutter ball on first ball $1.00
3.Carry over, thats when everyone strikes in one frame, and you pay a dollar if you don't strike the next frame.
4.Missed single pin spare .25 cents.
5.Split conversion everyone puts in .50cents except for the person that picked up the split.
6. Under average $1.00
7. Over Average by 50 pins everyone owes .50cents.
8. Under series $1.00.

Thats a few I can remember off the top of my head.
