Thumb Slug/Mold Question
« on: June 20, 2016, 04:41:54 PM »
Has anyone ever tried drilling out an existing thumb slug in a ball and replaced it with a custom thumb mold? I have two balls that I got drilled up and the feel obviously isn't exact between both balls so I'm thinking of having the proshop operator drill out those slugs and replace them with a custom mold of an old ball that I liked the feel of.

Is there a chance of having the new custom insert sinking into the ball or something like that or should I just go with a Vise-IT installation? My only gripe with the interchangeable thumb is the odds of a failure of some sort, and a broken thumb. Unlikely but a concern. Thanks!

We do it all the time! Only issue you might have is existing pitches in the ball not matching the pitches on the ball that the custom thumb was made in.
