Could be operator error, could be bad breaks, but...
« on: January 06, 2010, 04:56:43 PM »
...I managed to find a way to leave a 2-7-8-10 and a 2-5-10 in the same game Tuesday night. Picked up the 2-5-10 (yay). Picked the 2 off the 7-8-10 (boo). I don't even know how those leaves are possible for a right-hander. All I know is I had a $&#^*%y ball reaction all night.

And no, I didn't hit my average for series.

Wow, that stinks.... It has got to be something with the lane plus the rack, or maybe just a bad rack?

2-5-10?  Seriously?  The ball must've rolled out or slid all the way to the pocket...lol  Were you playing fall back?

I saw a 5-7-10 and 7-9-10 yesterday. Not by the same bowler, but on the same pair.
Sometimes you get funky splits

What''s fall back?  Is that a shot where the ball lays off as it approaches the pocket?

Funky leaves you got there, Jess.

I saw a guy leave the 7-8-9 last night in league.
I have never seen that before.  Older guy, throws
a straight ball that bounces at his foot and goes
really slow.

Fall back is playing 5th arrow to 13/14/15 board at the breakpoint.  On a real slick condition, you can leave some ugly stuff.....  I saw a guy leave a 2-4-5-7-10 on a 50' pattern trying to play that line.  The ball just deflected...lol

Nope, 900Global Break S-75, then an AMF Heist for a couple of shots and then a Storm Dark Thunder Pearl for the last 2 games.

** ON EDIT: Also funny you mentioned Lane #1, as the next time I''m scheduled to be on that pair, you can bet I''ll take my Gold Nugget with me. Since I was having so much trouble with inconsistency at the breakpoint, I''ll make sure to bag a particle pearl. I''ve shot big numbers on that pair with the Nugget but just forgot to take it this time.

Not playing a fallback shot. To answer another poster''s question, I''ve never had a rack issue on this particular pair. I was having a problem getting a consistent read downlane, but I was complicating that by being inaccurate. Just not a good night all the way around.

My Break S-75 was picking up too early. When I would try to de-shell from there to the Heist and play my preferred line, it wouldn''t make enough of a move. So I ended up getting out the Dark Thunder Pearl, moving left and trying to slow-wheel it. That was not the right adjustment to say the least. Surprising, though, that I didn''t really see the ball coming in behind the head pin in classic 2-8-10 mode. The ball looked like it was finishing but then bam, weird split.
