Peterson Classic
« on: July 14, 2004, 07:09:43 PM »
Looks like I will be in Chicago in August and wondering if anyone will be there the 5,6,7.

I am looking to bowl for the experience and wonder if anyone else will be there too.

Sweet, i'll be there August 8th as well...what time are you bowling PNJ?  I bowled last year and shot 1280 something...this year i'm just gonna fire at the hole and see what happens.  I'd like to think that I can average at least 190 doing that, but that's if my spare game decides to come along for the ride that day.

Bring a spare ball and an old urethane ball if you have one.  I finished in the top 100 a few years back using a black Rhino Pro.  It came out the same time as the purple one, but was the urethane version.  Spares, spares, spares.  That's all that matters.  One lane will be dry as a parking lot, then next will be 60 feet of so much oil, you will see a rooster tail of oil behind your ball.  Honestly, the best way to throw strikes is to aim brooklyn. Seriously. Pocket hits leave nothing but 5-10's, 8-10's, you name it.  This is the only place you can leave a 5-7-10 and no one laughs at you!  The racks are that bad....Just throw is hard at the head pin and hope for the best.  Lane one is a ton of fun too.  The wall starts right at the left gutter.  10-pins are not fun on that lane.

Doc, I'm scheduled for the Peterson at 6:30PM Friday 8/6.  My felllow Californian is not going to be able to go.  I set up for 2 spots, if you want it, let me know.  I'll call and make the change.  I haven't sent in the entry fee yet.  I was planning to do so this weekend.  I had hoped for the 3PM spot, but the squad was already filled.  Let me know.

TP sent you a message.

I also plan on hitting a few blues clubs while I'm down there.

For the rest of you that will be there maybe we can get together and just meet up.

Looks like I will be staying at the Sheraton Towers in Chicago.

About 30 miles from the bowling alley.
