Question about Collegiate Bowling BGSU
« on: April 29, 2008, 06:01:11 AM »
Hey guys, I know there are a few people on the boards that are apart of the college bowling program and I have a couple questions.

I just got accepted to Bowling Green State University in Ohio, (still not sure I am going to attend yet) but I am pretty sure they have a bowling team.

I am 25 years old, will be 26 by the time I actually would be attending, and have competed in many adult leagues and tournaments and have obviously taken cash prizes.

I know that in other sports that would make me ineligible to participate, but is bowling different?  I thought I heard that it is not an NCAA sponsored event.

If any one has any info, please let me know

I don't think there is an issue with being a "club team."  I know here at PSU, several of our club team members bowled in the US Open (as amateurs).  If the program is an NCAA sport (only a few in the country), then there may be some issues.

The only thing that limits a person from college bowling would be having your pba tour card.

You should send a PM to ImmaculateL, I think he is in charge of BGSU's bowling team.

Your fine. As long as you have not had your PBA tour card it doenst matter. I bowl for University of Central Florida Knights and I am 23 and have won money bowling all over. No worries. Bowl have fun. I have met a ton of great people (good way to get your name out into the industry becuase you never know who your going to meet). Bowled all over and on tough shots, gained a ton of experience that has helped and had fun. Live it up.
