So if I were to blow some cash on a new ball what should I get?
« on: September 08, 2004, 03:10:22 AM »
Well golf the golf season is coming to a close and I might as well fork over a few bucks to try a new ball.  I don't really want to spend over $130 or so.  So what would you suggest out of the balls that have came out after last season.  I bowl on a pretty standard house shot and have medium speed and revs... pretty smooth arc to the pocket.  I just like to mess around with different balls so I'm not really looking for anything inparticular.  Thanks alot for any help.

There is a ton good stuff in the low to midprice catagory.

AMF Titan
Brunswick Nemesis, Bruiser, Power Groove
Columbia Bully, Wired, Alter Ego, Detour, Ti Traction, Hyde
Dynothane Crisis or Vendetta series
Ebonite Vortex II, V2 Sweet/Clean
Hammer Blade series
Roto Grip Silver Streak series or Sonic series
Storm Charge series, Force series, Razor Wire
Track Havoc, Crunch Time

For medium hook that will work on a variety of shots, I'd look at a solid cover resin ball.  The Nemesis, Bruiser, Ti Traction, Vendetta Black, V2 solid, Silver Streak Solid, Flash Force, and Havoc are all great choices.  If you want something easy to control, look at the Flash Force.  If you want versatility, look at the Havoc.  The Havoc is basically a remake of the AMF Nighthawk, one of the best balls made IMHO.

If I were to buy a new ball this year (which I swore to myself I wouldn't do!), I would look at one of the following 3:

Storm Flash Point
Hammer Big Block Diesel
Track Freak-a-zoid

Probably leaning towards the Track.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck and hope you find a good one.

If your ever in the Millersburg area, stop in at Spare Time lanes.

Ultimate Inferno.  Great in the box condition and it can be polished to a glass shine in minutes.
