« on: October 17, 2008, 05:53:43 AM »
What is your favorite ball type & general layout?
Asymmetric or Symmetric core?
Ball Surface? Polished or Smooth?
Pin-to-PAP distance?
Pin-high or Pin-low?
MB angle?

I find that I have greater success with weaker symetric cores and mild covers. My faves have been a Sonic X pearl and a Liberator. Both balls were drilled with basic pin next to ring finger drillings. I'll alter surface to match up with oil length and volume. With weaker asymetrics I have gone with mass bias on the left side of the thumbhole (RH). This isn't an option with most of the newer asymetrics. Unless you have a lot more speed than me (16 mph), the stronger stuff will hook too violently to control. At least on a house shot, weaker balls with basic drills are better for no thumbers.

Most of the time I just pickup an 8 pound ball from behind the counter.  Really doesn't matter to me.  I usually average around 150 with an 8lb house ball when I play with 2 hand bowling.

I throw 2 handed but I throw with the thumb in, so I cant really answer this one.
