question for those that bowl on a walled up shot
« on: October 11, 2003, 06:03:23 PM »
I've never had the opportunity yet to shoot on a walled up shot. The owner of the house I bowl in is from the old school and refuses to put down a walled shot. The closest thing we have here is the condition for the seniors and thats a mild crown.

I prefer this tougher condition, as I`m also from the old school and it has helped me when I bowl tournaments outside the area.

My question is, do the bowlers that shoot on a wall week in and week out stay pretty much with the same line, break point and entry angle or does it change week to week and lane pair to lane pair.

Bones, thanks for the explanation, thats helped to clear up a lot of my confusion, I think with the wrong side of the brain, don`t you know.

I think instant gratification is whats going on here. I say this because bowling is an addictive game and once Joe or Jane bowler is hooked you`ve got them for ever. Wouldn`t it be interesting if this was all a consperacy and once the number of bowlers begin to increase to a level that is acceptable, the powers to be begin to dictate a sutle, gradual decrease in oil units and pattern types. So sutle that the house bowler doesn`t really notice the change and begins to make improvements in their game without even realizing  whats happening.

I prefer a blended crown to the typical top hat in terms of ball reaction.
