I recently kinda "inherited" the Proshop at my local center. Between myself and my friend/co-operator we've got the knowledge covered. Most of the necessary equipment is there as well(i.e drill press, plug cutter, scale, spinner, etc.) We are located in a smaller center with 16 old wood lanes, and we are also in a pretty small town, with the next closest center being
Super Bowl about 30 miles away where they have an established proshop. My problem is that most of our buisness is dedicated league bowlers, whom with our shop is dissarray for about the last 2-3 years have taken their buisness to the other shop. We are working to correct this problem now, and are starting to get some of our buisness back. My question is this, being a smaller shop in a smaller center we are unable financially to keep a large inventory, so in the past most things have just been ordered when requested, and not kept in stock. We want to change that, we currently use Ace Mithcell as our supplier, but wondered who you smaller shops in our similar scenario where able to save to most money with, and still get good service? Any input would be greatly appreciated...
