What is the difference between a weight hole and a motion hole?

A weight hole is an additional hole that is used to either bring a ball back into the USBC's static weight limits or to alter the ball's dynamics.  The MoTion Hole is a specific type of weight hole to alter the ball's dynamics.  Note that you have to have a specific type of layout for the MoTion Hole.

Any hole placed in the bowling ball alters the dynamics of the core...some increase flare some decrease flare...but ANY hole placed in a bowling ball sans the gripping holes is a weight hole no matter a name placed on it

Agree...And they { IMO }  give the ball more length and more back end...
