After reading the verdict, I fell out of my chair laughing.

Boy this was great.

I haven't read a Philip Marlowe review yet that wasn't completely entertaining and interesting to read. Keep 'em coming!

i seriously hope that wasnt actually phillip doing that review, and if it wasnt, whoever he allowed to use his account is a complete moron.

reading that was a complete waste of oxygyn...but its funny as hell

That was him and that review, as far as I recall, represented the opinion of him and several very good other local players in his neck of the woods on not just one but several Animals.

and i agree with their review.

seems like some ppl have had huge success with ball, but for the rest of us it was just horrible (for me at least).

the ball never turned the corner.  polish/220grit scuff/redrill, i've tried everything.

Sometimes, one writes incogneato.  (Hee hee).  The Animal was a very strange ball.  I had one, and several first rate scratch bowlers that I knew tried them.  To be fair, one of the guys (1 of 8) really liked the ball.  He had a high degree of axis rotation and a relatively high axis tilt with a slower ball speed (13-14 mph).  The rest of us didn't HATE the ball, it just was not as advertised for us -- well, that's not fair either, three of us HATED it.  Everything in the review was a summary of consensus comments and contained only those observations from the consensus that I could verify myself.

Thanks for the nice comments on the review.  A caution on reviews -- as the ever wise Charlest has noted -- just because a ball works for others or does not work does not mean it will work for you.  What I try to give is a sense of how it worked for me (and generally others who I see throwing the ball) together with an idea of what it might or might not do in the hands of others if I don't see a use for it.  If we would all provide those types of information in our reviews, they would be much more helpful.

Two more reviews are coming, one of a ball I (and the vast majority of folks I know) like, on balance (the Xception) and one that I (and my cohorts) don't (the Intense Inferno).

I vote that all reviews should be in the same exact format. Much more entertaining and I actually read the whole thing.
