We all have an old favorite that is essentially dead. Imagine if you could send that in and have the original coverstock removed, and replaced with a modern coverstock.
If you had to stay with the same company, ie: Black Widow Pearl would have to go back to Hammer, what combo would you create?
If you could send your core into any company, what what combo would you create?
How much would you pay for the experiment?

Well, I no longer have the ball I'd like to do this experiment with, but it would be the core from the Bolt Pro, upgraded to the R2S Hybrid coverstock. Would it work? I don't know, but I suspect it would work very, very well indeed. As to what I'd pay for this creation, I would say no more than $225.

Man, I would love to have a bolt period! One of my favs, still have one although long since retired. I would also love a updated forest fire!
-
Maybe the original Hammer 3D Offset with some of the new Hammer covers out would be nice.
I'd go the other way and take one of the new asymmetric cores of today (Siege Mace) with the PK17 pearl and a solid version on it to try. The only other retro core i'd like is the Synergy ETS core with its .070 Diff to play with.

i would like to take my black widow's core or the robo core from the old track mean machine, and re-cover them with the MicroBite cover. I could see paying 200 or less.
-
Hammer Psycho core inside the Pursuit-S cover.
-
I would like to try the original Cell core with Brunswicks PK17 cover
-
Misson core, track shuttle core, megatron core with storm covers like r2s hybrid, and r2x solid..maybe tge nano cover...
-
What about Victory Road core IN PK-17 or Vibe core in Victory Road cover....
Sooooooo many options but fun thinking about some of them.
-
i want the rival spinner core in the omen or pure swing cover. r2s solid would be interesting as well
-
I could see taking the Shuttle Core from the Track 505T and putting it with a R2S or R2X cover found in many of the Storm balls. That could make for an interesting mid level asymmetrical piece...

I know that it would be impossible to actually create something like this, but imagine how fun the concept would be: a machine like the Storm Surface Factory, but instead of it changing surfaces, it actually pours you a ball. You select from the comapny's various core options, coverstock formulations, colors, etc. Once you've made your selections, you hit "Start", and it puts it all together as you specified. Again, it's pure fantasy, but the thought of being able to mix and match like that sounds awfully cool to me!

+1,000,000
I would like to see one from Brunswick and EBI as well. Especially if the EBI one could use pre-buyout Columbia, Track, and Hammer cores and covers.

Hmmmm, How awesome would it be if you could submit an order to the manufacturers for custom balls, somewhat like Fender guitars do with the custom shop....? :)
-
I know I've seen people on here talk about custom orders before. If memory serves, some have even gone as far as to contact the manufacturers about the concept. The problem is that you have to sign on to buy a pre-set number - 500, 1000, 5000, whatever - in order for them to do it. Hell, I guarantee you any of the major manufacturers would create a "ballreviews.com" edition of whatever damn ball we please if enough members here wanted it and ponied up the cash up front. Sadly, as we all know, it's not easy to get people to follow through and pay for things! lol
-
Set up a ball reviews edition, rotate through the willing companies each year. Have voting to determine.
-
Setting it up would be easy enough. It would just be a matter of what the minimum numbers would have to be and whether or not enough BR members would put up the $$ to follow through and buy the ball.

Tidal Wave Wipeout weightblock with 900 Global's S70 Pearl.
-
Storm's RAD+ core with the Virtual Energy cover (R2X hybrid)
-
The Cuda/C core with 900 Global's S73 pearl cover, and S77 for the solid.
Storm X-Factor RAD core with the R2X pearl cover found on the Marvel Pearl would be cool as well.
-
What would be cool would be to say hey storm/roto...send 100 of these cores to brunswick to get that cover
-
Cherry Bomb core with the Bleeder cover on the Pink Panther

The Cuda/C had a great core. I shot many honor scores with that ball in juniors back in the day.
