RE-opening a balance hole
« on: March 28, 2011, 02:23:46 PM »
Changed my mind about a balance hole on a ball that I had askd the driller to plug. Will it be easy for him to re-open it, or will the hole have to be a slightly different size or in a different place?

If he can re-drill that for you hes not a good driller.

It should be no problem to drill right back in the same spot he plugged if that is what you are asking. He might have to go one or two bit sizes up if you want all the plug removed but other than that there are no issues. But it can definitely go back in the same spot.

Going up a size or two will have little to no effect on ball reaction, so have the pro shop drill all the plug out of it and it should look like it was never plugged.

All ok.

Balance hole was re-opened and is moved slightly, so I can still see portion of previous plug. But it's rolling much better, so not concerned about that, and am happy with the ball.
