Reaching your peak
« on: November 06, 2003, 08:25:36 PM »
In a Sawbones style topic, I was wondering if there is ever a point where you reached your limit?  I personally know I am still improving, and recently set my new high set of 678.  After bowling this, I began wondering what would happen if this was the best I could muster.  I know that 900 is perfection, but for those of you who have thrown an 800 or so, have you ever wondered at some point if this was the absolute best you could ever bowl?

I sure hope I never feel like I am as good as I am ever going to get.  I would have to say that knowing my personality if I hit a point where I say this is as good as I could ever be this is it.  I would probably quit.  It would absolutely drive me nuts.  to not try new things and do just anything at all to try to improve.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

For some it is to battle and win at all times.

I'm not wired like that.  I love high scoring.

If the condition is silly like in both bowling and in golf sometimes I'll battle other times I'm bored if it is too hard.

But doing things scoring wise that many have not perceived as possible (at least for themselves) now that is fun.

I have a feeling that on my first 800 in bowling I may just walk off and take up a new hobby!

I had the experience of an 800+ in golf and I wished I'd walked off that day.
Most everything after just bored me!

PS If I ever do a 900 or maybe even a 1200,(it can be done can't it) I'm gone!
