Read a thread about cracked bridge.....
« on: August 24, 2004, 03:45:40 AM »
What can actually cause it to happen?  In another Columbia related thread, it appears their balls are notorious for this problem.  Is it poor design or simply a "weakness" in the shell?  I've only owned 2 Columbia balls (Wine and Black U-Dot) with no problem.

Can someone explain?

Thanks,

Vernon

Columbia made balls seem to have a reputation for cracking.  They may be a little more brittle, but I've never had one crack.  There was a good post here a month or two ago with people talking about cracking.  The proshop probably has at least as much to do with cracking as anything else.

Sharp bits, slow drilling, beveled holes, keeping the pin >1" from the holes... will all reduce the chances of cracking.

my adrenaline started to blow out the finger holes...my power diesel has something thats either a scratch or a crack starting from middle finger hole(two months since drilling, fingers not near pin)

teammate has had THREE killer instinct pearls crack fingers(label leverage, ebo replaced them)....and his zebra iV blow out, other teammate's rock-on bridge been screwed but he still bowls with it, other teammate aggression has blown out fingerholes
