US Open Help

What do some of you do for the US Open pattern?
I mean, where do you play throughout the day, what do you use for the outside of the lane? What type of ball do you use around 3rd arrow? What do you use for really far inside (5th, 6th arrow)? What drillings do you use? How do you know when to switch?

The reason I ask is I bowled on this pattern and I found no line for the first 5 games. After this I was able to move inside at around 4th arrow and play out to 10 board. After about 5 frames the lanes changed and I was crossing the oil path of the righties, I was so far in. I didn't know where to play from there and I wanted to play outside, but wasn't sure what to use. Please help me out with your experiences on this pattern.

i believe that they used a flat pattern for the US Open and i guess a ball with a symmetrical core would be better to have a more predictable and controllable reaction

Gee I wonder how would the slogan be if they combined both...

I have an ultimate inferno drilled rico - it is 1000 grit sanded - should I sand it further to play the outsides?

thats the line I was playing too - then I ended up playing 25-10 and then I was crossing the oil of the righties. What do I do then? (I am lefty)

Assuming the pattern is somewhat flatter than what we normally bowl on, i'll make sure that whatever i'm using won't have a drill that will flare so much.
