Either is good; the rest depends on the reaction. I saw the Vertigo thrown by a teammate at Nationals. In the out of box condition, it was sick!!!!! The Real Deal is also a great performer. I like both.

For that matter, does anyone know for sure if the real deal is a particle coverstock or not?

dpunky - While particles are typically/generally better in heavy oil than non-particles, the ball companies are doing a good job lately producing strong reactive solids (non-particles) designed to handle heavy oil.  However, my opinion is that particle coverstocks do not last as long - that is to say, they weaken from their original strength more quickly - as the non-particles, so there is that to consider as well.

In all, with the correct layout, either ball will likely work well for you.

I'm putting my Triple Xtreme through Ebonite's Hook It Again.  The directions say leave it in for 24 hours.  I've decided to leave it in the container for 72 hours just to make sure that all the oil get out of my Triple Xtreme.  Hook It Again claims it brings a ball back to life.  If this does not work, I think I may drill up The Real Deal because I've just about had it with underperforming backend on heavy oil.

If you are leaning toward the Real Deal, but want the flexibility that some have said the Vertigo has, don't forget about the Big Deal that recently came out.  It has as much hook, if not more according to some, than the Real Deal, and turns the corner better than the Real Deal(not that it doesn't  )  We have drilled a couple for people and both have the Real Deal and Big Deal.  Both seem to like the Big Deal more based on its flexibility to when lanes change.
