really miss bowling
« on: February 06, 2009, 11:37:02 AM »
I used to bowl 3 leagues last year and this year, due to being in the navy, I cannot bowl in any leagues.  I really miss the game.  Last year I had my best year of bowling.  This year I have subbed about 6 times and I really hate being away from the game.  Has anybody else taken a break from bowling due to a reason they can't control? How did your average suffer/benefit from the time off when you started back up?  I carried a 219(my high average last year), and would like to get better, just don't have the time to practice.

I stopped bowling after my senior year of high school because my family moved and I had no one to bowl with.  I avereaged 208 that year, then just went and practiced a bit here and there, and joined a summer league when I was 22.

Averaged 216 with a 299 and 774 series (different nights), then got invited to bowl in a men's league the following fall.

Averaged 219 that season and threw the ball the best I ever had, and really even though I've booked higher, ever have.
