Perfectos in bunches?

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question about all of your personal experiences out there. On Wednesday night, I shot my 4th 300 game.  That was my 4th one since July 1st, spread across a couple of houses.  

After 20+ years without one, now I have 4 in the span of 5 months.  Has anyone else out there gone through something similar?  I'd always heard when they finally come, they come in bunches, but is my case an extreme one?

yah i guess so, happened to me too.

#1 in feb, #2 in march, #3 and 4 in the same day in april, #5 was in july, and #6 was this past weekend.

2005 has been a good year.

Seems to be pretty common. Shot my first 300 in July 1985 andshot 4 more in next 2 months. Shot my first 800 in May of '88 and shot 3 more in next 6 weeks.
Had been in a bit of an honor score rut until Aug of this year, and have had 3-300's and 3-800's since. Don't know why it happens this way but it does.

Many times it is just that you have matched up to the conditions.

The house may have changed oils, changed volumes of oil, pattern length, stripper, lane machines, pins, etc, etc. Or you may have gotten the right match up in a ball or release or speed.

Im always like that. Shoot honor scores in bunches. Doesnt matter where I bowl or the situation. If Im not clicking, it doesnt matter if I had the biggest wall in the world. I find ways to mess them up. Confidence is an amazing thing.

If you are shooting the big games/series all in the same house, it could be related to the set of pins being used.  Centers rotate three or four sets of pins, using each for a couple of months while the others "rest".  Usually the older sets carry best.  --  JohnP

I know someone who recently just shot his first 2 weeks ago. This morning he shot his second in a different house.

I know someone locally who has shot 3 300's in 3 nights, including an 868 in a scratch league (started with the first 28 strikes, 2 single pins stopped him from a 900 series).

Even though I've yet to have a 300 game, I did have a stretch last season where in 5 consecutive weeks I had at least one game with the front 9.... I think the stretch of games were 299 (6 pin), 266 (pocket 7-9), 289 (6 pin), 279 (7 pin) and 289 (7 pin)....
