Mission or Reign of Fire?
« on: February 22, 2010, 04:32:31 AM »
I'm looking for a ball that will handle more oil that my Hy-Road which is now at 4000 Abralon, 3" pin just above ring finger, CG in middle of palm. I have preferred symmetric cores over the years but impressed with what I've seen from the Mission. Anyone have experience with both these balls? Specs in profile. Thanks.

Think it is really going to come down to what kind of reaction you are looking for. The ROF seems pretty solid on heavy oil, but is an early rolling ball. The Mission is more a Medium/Heavy oil ball that rolls in the midlane and has a lot of backend continuation.

For the price you can't really compare, get the Reign of Fire. I get to throw the Mission tonight and already own a ROF so I'll let you know tonight if I wish to change my answer.

First the Mission was drilled with the pin above the ring finger, cg in the palm, and MB right of the thumb (No weight hole needed). Also, I normally throw 16, but my friend throws 15.

Now the lanes we bowl on are a flooded house shot with out of bounds outside of 8. The house got busted for having less than 2 units outside of 5, and since then they have taken away the outside and forced everyone to the track.

Okay, first off, the Mission is not as strong as the Reign of Fire, but it really depends on what you are looking for it to do.

I was quite impressed with the Mission and I really think I will be purchasing my own and bumping my Gravity Shift out of the bag.

I would say it's perhaps the strongest pearl I've ever thrown, and it carried things I shouldn't have. The carry really reminded me of the carry Diandra was getting with her 3.5 on the show this past weekend.

If you are looking for something with great mid/late reaction with tons of continuation, than the Mission is all you need. It actually created a shot shape exactly like the Invasion on a sport shot, but I could use it on a house shot. So if you want to beat the rush and get a pearlized Invasion before they even make one, the Mission is your ball.

If you like the look I would really recommend a 1-2 combo with the Invasion and the Mission because they have a really similiar shot shape and continuation.
