Walter Ray and Norm
« on: March 27, 2010, 08:45:51 AM »

Do Walter Ray and Norm have a special drilling they use to play the extreme outside lines that they usually play?  What about the surface?  Do they tend to use balls with polish or dull finishes?  I know it can vary with different oil patterns, but don't they use one drilling and surface more than others?

Thanks for the help.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure it's all in the hand position and the way they exit the ball.

For the most part they just adjust hand position and ball speeds, the ball helps but they do most of it with their own physical games.

Walter Ray uses fairly strong drillings I believe, so what he does is a result of how he releases it.  Norm will sometimes use weaker drillings but the way they throw the ball and their speed plays a big part.

Its mostly their physical games. If I remember correctly last year at the king of bowling they clocked norm duke at a whopping 258 Rev rate. Combine that with 18-19Mph and his accuracy/touch and thats how he can go so straight.

WRW I believe throws it 19mph with a low 300 rev rate. Its just how they do it.
