Post by: sneakerhead33 on April 27, 2008, 01:54:41 PM
I see that bowlingball.com has the red zone for $55.  Can someone tell me about this ball?

All I know is look on Ebay if you throw 16's. I got two shipped for $65 TOTAL.

I got requested specs AND the pin, cg, and mass bias are all in a straight line. Plan on drilling one pin above and the other pin below.

Nothing, nothing at all but some people don't use 16lbs anymore and I didn't know if you had saw that particular point....it was just a head-up for you.

Resin balls have enough hitting power that most bowlers get as good or better carry with 15 lb'ers than 16 lb'ers.  In long tournaments, you don't get tired as quickly when using 15 lb'ers.  16 lb'ers can drive through the pins so hard that stone 9 pins become a problem.  Most bowlers can generate more speed with 15 than 16.  I sell about 10 15's for every 16.  All that being said, personally I use 16, because my speed is slow (13 - 14 mph on Quibica) and I feel I get better carry with 16 lbs.  So it still comes down to the personal preference of the bowler.  --  JohnP

What are you questioning?  I said in both topics that I throw 16 lb equipment.  --  JohnP

Inverted 1,

Don't forget that the ballreviews population is most definitely not your avereage bunch of bowlers. No matter that a bunch of us use 16 lbs; even most here, by a large percentage, use 15 lbs. Try selling a 16 lb ball here. Unless it's one of the hot new ones, it's a hard sell.

I guess Inverted doesn't put much faith in the poll Duke ran here (http://"http://dukeharding.bowlspace.com/blog/2008/04/23/what_weight_bowling_ball_do_you_use").  65% 15#, 16% 16#.

You've apparently never been on ebay. 16lbs are an easy sell. I run an online business and they're all I sell.

Yes the red zone is still at that price, i just checked.  Its only for the 16# ball, it tells you that that weight is $54.00 of the reg price.
