The house I normally bowl in, has been rather dry the past few weeks. I don't know if this is their version of the "Come back next year!" shot or not but thats whats happened. Anyways, I've changed my release some to give the ball more length, by going from a thumb at 11 oclock, to thumb near 9 oclock. I know this produces a stronger, later backend reaction. Since changing to this, I can get the ball to the pocket but I have left 3 stone 8 pins in maybe 4 weeks, when before I wouldn't leave a stone 8 but once in a great while.
Does anyone have any insight on why this axis change has caused the stone 8's, and has anyone had anything similar happen?

D <~~~~ Used to be terrible wiffing 10 pins. Now through much practice, can wiff any single pin spare at any time.
