Hey guys,

I haven't been bowling much as I have in the past, but in the past year, I've been digging in the garage and using older stuff and leaving some of the newer stuff at home.

For example, I used an old X-Factor Vertigo last week and had a great look with it. In the past month, I have been using a Smash Time Pearl.

In the last part of the winter season, I was using my Impulse Zone which was my go-to ball for awhile.

Now all of a sudden I miss my Ultimate Inferno, Danger Zone and the Track Heat Remake.

Just goes to show that you don't always need the new stuff. It is an addicting hobby, but after throwing all the old stuff, my newer stuff has taken a back seat (Break Pearl, Black Pearl, Cell, etc.) LOL. I would love to throw my new stuff, but the older stuff is hard to put down right now!

Your thoughts?
Thanks!
Ram

Being a huge fan of "old school" equipment, I try to hunt down older NIB balls for my arsenal, since I do not seem to match up very well with more modern, aggressive coverstocks, due to my lower speed.

Therefore, my arsenal includes a 2000 Revolution Renegade (great piece - ugly as sin, noone knows the brand, but it is a killer on medium-dry shots), a Fuze Igniter and an Eliminator, a Pure Hammer and even a Blue Hammer (which I only use in training, a very effective tool to work on accuracy).

It does not have to be the newest stuff - I prefer a smoother and more predictable recation from older equipment and can live with less boards covered

Sometimes I take out my Command Zone ARC or Speed Zone Blue Vapor out of the bag..  They still roll great..

I use a Track Heat 2 as my bench mark ball and it is still very strong. It seems like when you are in the market for a new piece, all of the sudden you start to shoot really nice with the old stuff. With THS being very scoreable, they cater to a variety of different lines and styles of bowlers. So, I don't think that getting the 'newer, high-performance' equipment is always the answer to achieving honor scores. House shots allow you to use almost anything and score. Just my 2 cents.
