Best Bowling

Ever notice that your best series are bowled using the same ball all night? I do. Almost every honor score that I have bowled I used the same ball all night. I just make small adjustment as needed. Maybe it is just coincidence maybe not. How about it guys and gals?

Of course it is. If you're making changes it's because you are already missing shots. You don't make a ball change on a string of strikes very often do you?

Agreed. Too many are way too quick to switch balls. If your reaction was great in game one, then the same ball should be used until it's obvious that the lanes have changed a bunch, in my opinion. However, if you switch early and it takes you 2-3 frames to get zeroed in on what it takes to carry that is time wasted. If you stick with ball #1 you might only need one frame to adjust.

The exception might be when you don't start out with fresh oil and the lanes just get torched earlier than normal.  This past year our league bowled 2nd shift and my weaker stuff got used a lot in game 2, and especially game 3.

Usually when I start with a ball, I stay with it for all games. I have a spare ball, but hardly ever use it as it takes much concentration on using plastic vs. my hook ball. I use my HyRoad the most lately. It's comfortable and I seem to understand it, although I have a 2Fast, Lane1 Chainsaw and Original Cell, but they don't come out as often as they used too. I've been working on my approach, speed and stance when the pattern changes. Seems to be working as I've improved my average by 15-20 pins in the last few months. Been wanting a new go-to ball though. Guess that is normal for any bowler who wants to improve.
