Reno stadium

Going to reno this weekend first time. Was wondering if anyone have experience their how's their house shot? What type of balls like solid hybrids low end high end mid end you guys had success with.

I thought the stadium was only used for tournaments?   The USBC Open, the womens Open and some others rotated through there.

The house shot comment threw me off.  Because they only have tournaments there with the oil patterns determined by the tournament officials, I don't think there is a house shot.  You should check with your tournament officials to see what pattern(s) will be there.

Unless they have replaced the lanes recently, they were pretty worn synthetics, so expect a lot friction in the dry areas.  I haven't bowled there recently so someone else should offer their experiences there.

Oh OK maybe no house shot . last week at Asian american tournament it was kegel main street. I never bowled that b4 , I mostly bowl Brunswick stuff a22 lane machine so was just wondering how the kegel main street which I was guessing their house shot is.

I believe they replaced the synthetic lanes 2 or 3 years ago.

I have seen house balls under the settee's so I assume they do have open bowling at times. However I doubt they let open bowling occur while a tournament is going on.

What shot would they would layout for open bowling? I haven't a clue.

The Reno Stadium does have it's own house shot. It's a pattern they call Rhino and it's about like any other 40 ft top hat you would see anywhere else.

The Reno Stadium never has open play like a regular bowling alley does, but they hold a lot of tournaments. It's not just limited to the big ones either. Some PBA regional tournaments are held there of course, but there are a ton of small weekend tournaments. Pretty much anyone can use the stadium for your event just by contacting the city and finding a date. They have a linage rate just like any one else.

There is no league bowling, but some leagues hold their end of season sweeper at the stadium.

And yes, there are house balls under the seats and if you look behind the wall next to lane 1, there are racks of house shoes as well.

The Stadium was pretty high scoring even in Nationals when it first opened.  I average over 225 for my first 3 trips.  The shot always opened up really nice between 3rd and 4th arrow.  Last few years it has played out sometimes.      Topography issues and wear started to really take a toll on it after about 7 or 8 years.  They may be on their 3rd set of lanes.  Historically there are more tough pairs on the high end

The lanes just got replaced this year prior to the usbc women's championships, so they are very new. Good luck!

Haha yea some bagger 150 avg shooting 250 at country club all squads , heartless guy took everything. But its only 27$ a squad to bowl at reno and I never been there so why not he he.

MAMBO: Many Assholes Make Bagging Obvious

I just bowled at the stadium last week. It's a bracket making pattern.. I don't know what pattern they used, but my roll told me to use a medium benchmark ball, nothing that jumps off the spot too quick. And to ball down as the squads continue throughout the day.

Only guys with revs can bounce off the outside boards unless you're playing really direct up the boards from 5-10 with less revrate. I played down and in but more 15 to 10 all day only moving 1 to 2 boards in each squad - of course adjust ball and/or roll.

Of course the don't use a wick machine?.... but, it seemed easy to create a shim on the pattern they used. So scoring can be easier. I scored a personal best at the stadium for 9 games last weekend, in the 2025-2030 range.

Good luck and make $$$$$
