Have a friend who wants something to replace his 900 Global Desert Hook. It's a 2.61 RG and .026 diff ball, with a weak pearl resin cover. Is there anything even close to this out there that's not urethane?

There isn't really anything now. There's one ball that I don't know much about the cover but has similar numbers. The Monster Vamp

According to BTM's little chart a Rhino or Tropical Storm is probably the closest but core numbers different.

I would suggest trying a Desert OPS stronger cover but the ball is easy to get the down the lane and it very controllable at the breakpoint. Another choice would be a BTU Pearl from Brunswick similar core numbers and despite what is said about it's cover it is a resin base.

I replaced one with a Track Spare+.
Great all-around ball for slower ball speed. Polyester cover.

IMO the only thing that would be similar in the 900 Global line would be a Shadow Ops. If you want to go urethane, then a Boo Yah which has the same core and numbers. If it works, hang on to the Desert Hook.
