Title: Replacement for AMF Hawk
Post by: Buckwild on October 11, 2003, 12:07:29 PM
I bought A Hawk this spring at a closeout sale for cheap. I had it drilled with the pin directly above and a little to the right of the ring finger, and the cg stacked underneath (pin was 2-3in. out), with a weight hole near the PAP. It gave me nice length, and a strong, arcing action at the backend. I wanted to know what current ball can replace this, ball company doesn't matter. Thanks.

16 pounds only.

The Ti hawk is close but earlier.  I have one for sale.

If you want a high rgsolid like that but it turns just a little less and Ultra Hot is close but needs to be drilled slightly stronger less differential!

PS I also have a ball with the same core as Hawk the Nighthawk Revenge(eramaslam core).
Drilled once weak for a righty.  But it is pearl particle.  In great shape and really moves nicely.

I would've bought another one if they still had them available, but Closeoutsusa only has them in 16lbs. I throw 15. That is the place where I bought it, for $35.

That is the main reason I'm asking for what current ball has a similar reaction to the Hawk.

I answered your question.

Ultra Hot drilled a little stronger than Hawk.

Close would be Ti Hawk(earlier), or Nighthawk revenge same core but cleaner in heads!

Thanks Luckylefty, but I believe the Ultra Hot is discontinued also. Do you know of any current ball with a similar reaction?
