Replacing my Green Messanger
« on: May 02, 2005, 04:46:15 AM »
I currently have a Green Messanger (pin 1" right of ringfinger) that I tossed for the last 4 year 2 nights a week. Its been a pretty good ball for me except I seem to leave more than my fair share of 10 pins with it. Half way through this season in a Mixed league I bowl in they decided to go to a light/flat oil pattern and it use to be a medium/block pattern (house owner said he plans on leaving it dry/flat next year also). With the Dry condtion I'm having alot of trouble getting the ball to go long enough even with more ball speed and I've been throwin over 3rd arrow out the the 5 board just to get it to stay on the pocket side and with more speed than I like. I'm looking to get a new ball and would like a few ideas on what I should look for. Ideally I like to play with medium speed, decent revs, and the Track area between the 2-3 arrows 7-8board) and something that will work well on both medium and light/dry oil conditions, and might consider 2 different ball if that will work better. I finished with a 178 average at this house (went DOWN from 185 after the switch to dry/flat) and 189 at the other house which is still medium/block

I also prefer Ebonite/hammer/columbia balls

how bout the new scout reactive high flare? haven't thrown it but seems like it'd be a good choice. aggressive enough to where it wouldn't be useless on medium, but weak enough to where you could throw it on light/dry. just a thought.
