Good reading indeed.
As far as the center at South Point goes, I believe Righels made a couple of posts about that a few months ago about having a new center built up for hosting the USBC Open there when Vegas goes into the rotation a few years down the road. While they had success at Cashman Center, the place was just too small. the lanes at South Point, Red Rock Station, and Texas Station just don't have the capacity to host the tournament over a 4 - 6 month period, plus it would kill leagues there for half the year. With this deal, the tournament, as well as other tournaments could be held there and not impact anything. Plus Vegas is a huge grab for destinations for the tournament, so win-win-win all around.
That's what we should be seeing in the next few years.
