MAN I AM A BONE HEAD I JUST REALIZED I POSTED THIS IN NON BOWLING AND I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE BONES DON'T GO THERE SO I COPIED IT HERE.

I just signed up for a summer league last night and I just wanted to see how many liked the concept and if anybody thinks it would fly during a regular winter league season or if it could only work during summers short schedule.

The league is 11 weeks long split into two 5 week sessions and a tournament the last week. It is completely scratch. You bowl four games every week and you change lanes and opponenant every game. There are tons of ball give aways and accessory hand outs things like that.

So, far Roto Grip, Brunswick, and Storm I believe are sponsoring it. So, what are everyones thoughts. Sound good? Could this type of thing work over a longer week format? Is this the way bowling is going instead of being so team oriented?

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

I was a regular in a Sport shot league with 4 games and 4 opponents for a singles scratch last Summer and I subbed in a the same type of league but house shot and 5 games, 5 different pairs and 5 different opponents each night.

Let me tell you that 5 games on 5 different pairs every night gets old FAST! You spend more time running around, lugging your balls or worse your 4 ball bag from one end of the house to the other, tripping over everyone else's bags and bumping into them every game. There were times in this 36 lane house (the lanes are end to end ) where I would go from lane 8 to 32 to 11 to 28 to 3. Even with the A/C going in the Summer, you can work up quite a sweat and be awfully tired by the end of the night.

The 4 man was better, but not by a lot. It was much more fun because of the Sport shot.

I just cannot imagine 36 weeks of that. Here in NJ, leagues run from 32 to 36 weeks. Houses force that on almost every league.
