Request for information about thumb molds

I constantly struggle to get my thumbholes "just right".  I've heard about thumb molds that can be used to replicate a good thumb hole.  Does anyone have any information about this or prefereably a link to a place that sells the kit?

Also, what kind of fingergrips do you use and why?  Any information on a place to purchase those would also be greatly appreciated.

most places like buddies pro shop . com carry things like that.

but doesnt a pro shop in your area offer this service? most places seem to try and keep up with whats new and even the lousy places by me offer thumb molds.

as for finger inserts every person is different. some like lifts some like a certain color.

for me I prefer power oval by vise in clear as the clear grips are tackier due to them not having pigment.

I'm doing all my own ball work now...just wanted to find someone that sold the thumb mold kits and didn't see any on sites like Buddies.

I think this should answer your questions. I've use thumb molds on my equipment. Every thumbhole comes out exactly the same.

I think the stuff your loking for is called exacticator or something - its the stuff I use but the name escapes me (if that isnt it)!

Then, having usd the rubber molding kit to make the mold, you use brunswick wizard ball plug, the quick drying one, not regular ball plug, to make the thumb slugs.

Or, send me a slug that feels good and I can do it for you

You can order a starter kit (materials to make one mold and one insert) from Pro Edge Inc. http://proedgeinc.com/customthumb3.htm

For additional inserts, you can use Smooth-On Smooth Cast 300.  It hardens in 10 to 15 minutes. http://www.dickblick.com/zz335/24/

You might want to look into the "IT" from VISE. I have had a lot of good feedback on the ones I have put in for customers!!

I think the new "IT" from Vise would be a great way to go if I hadn't already started using the Turbo Switch Grips.  As far as grips I prefer power ovals with mesh tops. Always clear.
