First off lets say I have had this ball for 13 years. Its a urethane ebonite Gyro. It hasn't been bowled on for all this time, but its seen atleast 300 games maybe even 400 games. I talked to one of the guys at the pro shop about resurfacing. He asked me if the ball still hooks? I said that it does and he made it sound like it wouldn't really need resurfacing.
Should I just have it done anyways? I mean it can't hurt anything.
If I were to get a ball right away to replace this one I am not sure what to get. I don't want the most expensive high performance type of ball but something with more hook potential than this one.
Any suggestions?

Its actually possible that it could hurt your game because resurfacing will give you a lot more reaction, and could take time to get used to it. If you get a new ball, I would look at something like the Ebonite Predator Jungle Green, if you want something a little tamer, maybe one of the Tornado's.

BowlingKid25, your only 15 and have 5 balls. I needs to start catching up.
Seriously, I am probably the only person on this site to use only one ball and one ball only.

Urethane and plastic only need to be re-surfaced twhen they are tracked out. They absorb oil significantly slower than resin balls. SIGNIFICANTLY.
