Critical mass Special ...today's replacements
« on: December 16, 2005, 06:13:48 AM »
A friend of mine is doing well on our jumpy local shot.

His best look is his old Critical Mass.

I have a Sonic X solid and frankly it is not enough.

In looking over today's list of balls I came up with these similar smooth lower flare solids.

Track Solution PPX, Hot Rod Pro stock, RotoGrip Ultra Sonic....maybe a Roto SE?
(but diff is much higher on 15.

Any thoughts on this area of moderate flare smoothness?

I got a 15# SS SE recently and LOVE it, even with the higher diff; check with JeffRevs and other RotoGrip gurus, but I believe that this is a VERY versatile ball and you can lay it out to get the reaction that you want. My 2 cents ...

The Ultra Sonic is a pearl smooth ball though and 2-3 boards stronger than the Solid for me. The Super is the solid version no experience with it though.

Black ICE...looks like the type of specs I'm interested in.

I actually wish I could find a solid Panic...and I don't want to sand my current panic as it tears up other local houses!

I have a Walter Ray with similar specs as the Black Ice above BUT it seems to go long on this Anvilane house and never strike.  Kills other houses!

Probably an updated coverstock ie black ice would be better on todays' long shot synthetics from outside.

Anyone think an overdrive might be good?

I got a buddy of mine that has an Overdrive, and it seemed to die on him soon after he started throwing it. Of course, he drilled his Sahara A LOT stronger then he should've, so it evened out. I don't really know where I was going with this....but HEY LUCKY LEFTY!  WOOT WOOT!  See ya in NC this summer!
