Ahh, another small piece of the world . . .

From stormbowling.com, I found this piece of news, and saw something unexpected, but really interesting!

EAGLE IS BWAA BOWLER OF THE MONTH

June 4, 2003 -- Dale Eagle was voted Bowling Writers Association of America Bowler of the Month for May by a select panel of the organization, BWAA President John Falzone announced today.

Eagle, a 57-year-old right-hander from Tavares, Fla., defeated Bob Glass, Lawrence, Kan., 718-550 and 707-654 in the double-elimination championship contest of the American Bowling Congress Senior Masters May 30 in Tucson, Ariz. The victory, Eagle’s eighth Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Senior Tour title, was his third Senior Tour “major.” He also placed second at the PBA Senior Greater Detroit Open in Belleville, Mich.

This is fourth time in Eagle’s career he has been accorded BWAA’s monthly honor.

Meanwhile, Ron Bahr, Topeka, Kan., who became the first bowler in American Bowling Congress Championships Tournament history to record back-to-back perfect games, was a distant runner-up in the balloting.

Yes!  Topeka is finally on the map!  I know that guy!  I'm gonna see him tomorrow!

I guess that it was just a matter of bad timing that cost Ron the Bowler of the Month honor.  I can't take anything away from the accomplishment of Dale Eagle, but if either had done their event in a different month, then maybe Ron would have gotten enough first place votes.

Speaking of Eagles, I would feel relatively safe at this point to speculate that Ron will bring home an ABC Eagle to Topeka.  With the time of the ABC Nats winding down rapidly, the chance for someone to unseat him in the standings is narrowing quickly.  This year's ABC Nats will very soon be a wrap, so I'm sure that Ron is holding his breath every day.  Anything can happen, but with the few sets left to be thrown, it is becoming less and less likely that someone will go around him in the scoresheet.

I'm glad that guy didn't get the award for the back to back 300's.

We all know that anyone can do that on those walled up conditions he was bowling on.

Lol, yeah, terrible.  One of the guys on the ABC website (I think, he was some guy that started talking to Kristi online) gave Ron and his wife a scare the other day, he said someone had taken the lead.  Just messing with them, of course.

Dale Glenn was Dale Eagle's original name. I think that Ron Bahr's back to back 300's in the ABC tournament was more of a feat than winning the Sr. Masters, especially since it's never been done before. =:^D

Hey, whatever kind of a feat it was, I know the guy!!!!  Nothing's cooler than sitting in an empty house just after league with Ron, his wife, and one of their friends and looking at pictures from Knoxville and listening to them talk about their "adventures" at the ABC tournament.
