More than one beast?
« on: December 26, 2003, 10:35:58 AM »
Ok I have a question that I need to ask. I am using beast that this guy I met at the bowling center gave me. I haven't seen him lately. So instead of asking him I'll ask you guys. Since all the people who visits this website are bowling fans. You guys know about the beast with mica right? In the description part, they said that the flexcel coverstock of the original beast is enhanced with mica. And now it is called the beast with mica. I was looking at the retired columbia bowling balls. I saw two the beast. One is the with mica and one says blue beast. And it says that it has a urethane coverstock. So I'm wondering if there are two original beast or not. Isn't flexcel a reactive coverstock? Thanks. Anyone who can answer this question of mine. Please answer!!! Thanks again!!!

There was a Blue Beast urethane ball.  The Beast, as we know it, or Beast with Mica, is a reactive ball, with the Flexcel coverstock.

Just once I'd like to show up at a place with the lanes FLOODED 45 feet down and flat.  That way I can watch these crankers struggle to find the pocket and leave splits while I come straight off the corner and do nothing but make 4 pins and 10 pins all night.

Technically, the original beast was Purple and urethane, not reactive. I remember this because back in the day I had the original. Then about a year or two later the original reactive Beast came out. The blue Beast is a re-issue of the old, Original, non-reactive Beast.

In any case, if anyone has an old, original, reactive Beast in 15 lbs. please let me know.

I think that there were about 14 different Beast made over a 10 year period. My favorite was the 2nd one, the reactive, then the Ti Beast urethane.

From the diagrams, the Track Magic (Track is owned by Columbia) has a Beast core.  I got one used ... now I just need to get a couple more.  Great ball.
