I work at Taylor Lanes and I overheard one of the head people of the PBA and Patrick Allen and the were talking about how last year the left side was so easy at times that you didn't need to have to have "skill" to bowl well. They also said at times the lane machine was messed up and the lefties were shut out. They proceeded to say that this earthe have the machines working great and they have the left side worked out where this year only thwe lefties with real skill are succeeding.

I kinda thought about who had such success last year and isnt doing much this year and obviously Rhino camne to mind. Watching him in practice last night, most of the people in the TQR had a better look. It made me wonder if Rhino is who he was referring to mostly. I kinda always thought he had a lot of room last year every time on TV. While I know he would whoop my butt in bowling I reall am beginning to wonder if he is really at the caliber of the others on tour. My gut says no.

Those guys have a half hour of practice to break down the shot the way they want it . . I'd say that those with more experience would know better how to break the shot down, especially when it comes to different lane surfaces, climates, etc.  If anything, I'd say that the rookies that are doing well are overcoming their lack of experience with an abundance of skill.  And besides, how many weeks does it take some of us to get back in the swing of things when leagues start back up?  No we don't bowl 20-30 games a week, but we don't have to travel either.  I don't think you can paint an accurate picture of who's doing what before we're 6 or 7 tournaments deep.  And if the lanes were so wide open last year, don't you think we'd have seen the lefties with skill more than the ones without?  Where was Patrick Allen and his big mouth last year?  Where is Patrick Allen and his big mouth THIS year?

Why is it important to righties where on the lane lefties play.

Is there someone here who believe that after a couple of years that the lane surfaces are anywhere near symmetrical?  That the friction points on the actual lane bed are the same or symmetrically located?

Do you think it is possible that lefties play on the lanes in the spots where the carry is best on THAT side?  And nowhere else!

Well, as I have experience on both sides of the lane . . the left side normally plays tighter, but the reaction is more true.  It takes more hand on the right side to get the kind of backend reaction you get on the leftside, but the left side is about 2 or 3 boards tighter.  That's why I think most lefties are fluffers, they don't need to hit the ball for it to do something, but that's also why most righties aren't as accurate.  Basing this *opinion* on 3 different houses, and a variety of oil patterns including PBA patterns.
