Ball for tough patterns
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:19:47 AM »
The only tournaments i see are still THS & arent long format forums, so my "arsenal" consists of semi-strong balls.  I have a Rogue cell, a hy-road, and the new motiv GT-1(great ball BTW), that i carry everywhere.  I also have a troad pearl for when i feel like i might hit some dry.

My problem is that im going to be bowling on the kegel patterns this summer and i feel like i need to pick something up that will give me a nice look on the tougher patterns.  Maybe a semi-weak solid, a break?

I typically lean towards roto or storm, but for this purchace, i think im open to pretty much anything.

The rogue cell and hyroad are great pieces for just about anything.  Another one you might want to consider for somewhat longer patterns is the power swing.  Its been absolutely great for me on a couple of the longer PBA patterns.  Might also want to consider a brunswick piece possible to smooth out the jump off the end of shorter pattern.  I wild ride is pretty good with a slightly stronger layout on it.  Bowl on the stuff first though, find out exactly what you might be missing and go from there.
