My suggestion: try to loft the ball through the heads, and/or try a deeper line with the strong ball (Machine) just to find some head oil. Another option is to use a amilder ball and move closer to the gutter - success depends on the oil pattern. If you have a Xmas tree, you might get through the heads this way, but the shorter oil close to the gutter might make the ball too early.

Personally, I like to move to the outside first (straight up the boards between 1st and 2nd arrow), my Renegade and Pure Hammer are great options when my main line dries up.

If even this fails or the pattren is too short (See above), I have good success with the "take a stronger ball and move deeper" - I take my Frankie May Gryphon and move much deeper, playing from the left gutter across 4th-5th arrow with a big hook. It si a gamble though, even though I can hit the pocket consistently, the long way takes its toll and I had games with this strategy that left me either with strikes or 2-8-10 leaves in an erratic order. I guess I simply play too slow, but basically the concept works as a last resort

Move in, throw out with my Paradign. I have a machine and it breaks too hard off the dry, 10 pin city. Also, Arsenal Artillery will work moving in and playing a straighter line than with Paradign. The Paradign seems to carry and I have much room.

If all else fails and no head oil at all, Track heat, lofted somewhat up 7-10, works great on wooden lanes I play on, o.k. on synthetics.
