Robert Mushtare a member of the PBA
« on: August 14, 2014, 02:53:02 PM »
OK I know this will stir up this forum.  I was going through averages on bowl.com and noticed Robert Mushtare is a member of the PBA Tour.  The sky is definitely falling.

Means nothing. My Scratch Doubles partner last season had a PBA card. He averaged 198 on an easy house shot(League average was 210) and 171 in a PBA league.

I've never seen anyone leave as many 5 pins as this dude. Especially to then flag the ()*&(*&$##&$%* thing on the spare attempt!

If he is a PBA bowler, I'm Earl Freaking Anthony.

And yea, we came in last.

Why would it stir people up?  He has the credentials, he gets a card.  Hope he has a long career.  It won't be profitable given the state of the Tour but who knows?  Maybe people should just get over the whole Mushtare issue.  How long's it been?  How were you personally affected by his situation?

He and like many others are just part of an organization. They meet the requirements for membership. If you think the requirements should be higher then start your own professional bowling organization.

I don't care if someone flashes their card around, or wear their official PBA bowling shirt. Its no big deal. The true story will be told on the lanes. Its their money, let them donate, the PBA sure could use it.

I don't think you really need to meet any requirements anymore..  Only requirement is the membership FEE..

Different levels and fees but the below are still REQUIRED.  Granted, they ain't much.   :o

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS - Here are four ways to become a member of the Professional Bowlers Association:
1.A 200 average or better for the most recent league season with at least 36 games in that league.
2.A 190 average or better in a sanctioned USBC Sport Bowling League. This is a league certified by the USBC using the PBA patterns. You can find out if there are sports leagues near you by contacting the USBC at (800) 514-BOWL (2695).
3.Cashing in a PBA Regional tournament as a non-member.
4.Be a member of the WTBA (International members only).

I didn't know the PBA allowed pre-bowls... ;)

Seriously though, if anyone want to lace 'em up and bowl against the best, I wish them well.

In qualifying for a tournament about 2 or 3 years ago on the PBA tour,,,,maybe cheetah championship....it seemed he was right near 24 or 25th out of about 120 bowlers.

Probably findable, just by memory.

Stumbled on it.
Memory was off, actual link

I note a 154 game in the first block.  I also note 250 participants in the tourney.

I do believe it was his best performance out there.

Just got to meet another member of the 900 club recently!  Inspiring.  Looking to see more and learn more by watching!

Dear Long Gone Daddy:

Why would it stir people up, you ask? If I made just about any comment regarding Mushtare, it would almost certainly stir YOU up, and you know it.

He finished 14th out of 55. I've seen him bowl multiple times, throws well. One 900, yeah ok, 3 or 4 nope. http://www.pba.com/Tournaments/RegionalResult/3400
